The Director wasn't asked the question to approve EME as a
Recommendation and his blog isn't intended to presume on the outcome of
the review. However, given the 23 or so objections to the recent charter
extension request, it's important for Tim, using his Director's hat, to
engage in the general dialog on whether to do the work at the W3C and on
the technical implications in doing such work. We certainly don't want
to discourage the Director for engaging in dialog on such important issues.
